A new section debunks the urban legends that resurface every year claiming that Thanksgiving is really a celebration of the European settlers' annihilation of native peoples. I don't question that the Europeans treated the native people's brutally and almost always unfairly. But that's not what Thanksgiving is about, or was ever about.
